Workplace Burnout & Stress

When work isn’t going well, it can affect everything else.

A majority of workers reported feeling burnt out due to their jobs.

Half (52%) of employees reported feeling burned out in the past year because of their job, and 37% reported feeling so overwhelmed it made it hard to do their job according to a 2025 NAMI Workplace Mental Health survey 33% noticed their productivity suffer because of their mental health, and conversely, 36% noticed their mental health suffer because of work demands. 34% of employees aged 18-29 and 28% of employees aged 30-49 reported that they considered quitting because of work’s impact on their mental health, while 21% of employees aged 50-64 said the same.

Job Stressors Can Effect Mental Health

Workplace burnout and mental health influence each other. Ongoing job stress include:

  • excessive workload

  • low control

  • poor support

  • unfair treatment,

  • inadequate time and resources

These stressors can lead to emotional exhaustion, detachment, and reduced effectiveness. Burnout is also associated with increased anxiety and depressive symptoms

What Therapy With Me is Like

  • Driven by you - We will go where you want to go. My primary focus is to help you move towards your goals.

  • Practical - Not all things work for all people. We will explore different approaches and zero in on what works best for you.

  • Safe and supportive - Therapy often works best when it is a place of calm in the storm and a safe place to explore and grow.

  • Values based - As the song goes, “You can’t get what you want, until you know what you want.” People generally feel better when they spend time on activities aligned with their values.

  • Insightful (hopefully!) - It can be very useful to connect current challenges to our past experiences to better understand where we are coming from, and what changes will be most helpful.

About Me

I am very interested in people, learning about their journeys, how their experiences/situations have contributed to their choices, and exploring together where they want to go from here. Clients tell me I have a calming influence, am a good listener, and they notice that I genuinely care.
